Since many have been asking…
Caffeine withdrawal was really hard the first few days. I took naps in my car for lunch during the workweek to save me from having a keyboard concussion. Things have gotten easier and I don’t need naps anymore, but they are always welcome. I have discovered that caffeine-free Coke is very similar to regular Coke. I sleep harder than before and have more vivid dreams. So naturally I had an anxiety dream a few days in about eating candy and then being in the dilemma of telling MKD I cheated. But the red Swedish Fish tasted oh so good…
Getting through Halloween and post-Halloween was/is difficult. Been offered candy by several people in the office and there are several candy bowls ripe for the picking. I am glad we had a decent amount of trick-or-treaters (n=15!) so the 2 bags of candy we bought are gone and out of the house. As with many things, out of sight, out of mind.
With all these lifestyle changes, MKD and I have put our energy toward the house. The painting is FINALLY done, we have actual window treatments, and there are pictures on the walls! I have also discovered that I have a “natural eye” for all things home decorating as the master bedroom turned out fabulous and the shelves placed in the dining room really create a different atmosphere on the ground level. Our power drill/tools have gotten quite the workout and we are learning a lot as we go along.
The next big lifestyle changes include going to the gym at least three times a week, taking up yoga, and cooking at home more.
I have no idea when we “grew up” and became functional adults. It’s kind of scary and yet calming at the same time.
